Pandora Radio and I have had an on and off again sort of relationship since I first started dabbling with it in about a year ago. I first heard about it on a plane ride in one of those shitty (but not always), free magazines they put in the kangaroo pocket on the back of the seats.
I think it's a great idea, and it has worked a million times better than I expected, considering what kind of music I'm asking it to match... but when someone recommends Phish and Dave Matthews Band to me, that's the auditory equivalent of cutting off my balls and shitting in my nutsack.
That said, Pandora has had its share of triumphant moments as well. Not only did it hook me up with an amazing little pop song the other day, but it's also from a band from right across the Bay.
Amongst the ever looming "State of Emergency" and machine gun bursts of Oakland, a man who dresses like a college student from 1997 is making the songs that will make my week.
